Booking a one way ticket.

So we’ve taken the decision, booked the one way flight out to China! I literally could not be more excited…

I have always been a middle of the road kind of person, you know – never rich, never poor. Never popular, never alone. I went straight to college from school and then straight to work from college. I’ve never been a career driven girl. I still don’t know what I want to do with my life. I would love to earn a living traveling the world, eating good food and experiencing fantastic things, then writing about it. But wouldn’t we all eh?

Adam and I have been living in the city centre for the last few years, he’s coming to the end of his degree and I’m sat in a 9-5 job. I don’t enjoy the job but it’s convenient. The pay is OK, the hours are fine and my office is a half an hour walk from our flat. But do you ever get the feeling that you’re settling? Everything just feels OK. Do you know what I mean?

So at the ripe old ages of 22 and 23 we’ve got ourselves a modest savings pot together. For a little while, I assumed the money would go towards a mortgage deposit or dare I say it, a baby? After a lot of chats we realised we aren’t ready to commit to our own home, we don’t know where we want to ‘settle down’. So we decided – let’s go explore! We’ve booked a one way flight to Beijing, flying out in May 2017!

I am unbelievable excited and terribly nervous. I know China is going to be like nothing we have ever experienced before. For the trip as a whole we are planning China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand & Malaysia. Any recommendations or tips would be greatly appreciated!

Ah, I’m just stalking your blog now after reading this post! I am literally just on my way back to Shanghai after 2 months of travelling Asia, most of which the places are the ones you’ve listed here. If you need any advice or have any questions then message me, I’m more than happy to help (also there are a few things you should know/do before going to China!)
