The Depot Bakery – Sheffield

Despite the fact this gem is literally a 30 second walk from our flat we ventured to the depot bakery for breakfast for the first time yesterday morning. The place itself is made up of two sections, the Depot Bakery and the Depot Eatery. I loved the fact you could see your bread being freshly baked as you sat eating your breakfast. The building is light and airy with a high ceiling and crisp white walls. They also allow dogs inside so the perfect spot for a coffee and cake after a long walk.

There was plenty of choice on the breakfast menu, which is available until 3pm. We both went for poached eggs on sourdough toast, I had mine with smoked salmon and the other half chose bacon. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the salmon was a tasty addition. The only fault I could find was that the toast was a little burnt which made it really difficult to cut up. We each had a very instagrammable latte to go alongside our eggs. You know when you find one of those places you could just sit for hours on end chatting and drinking coffee? This is so one of those places! I will definitely head back to depot for breakfast. Although as good as our food was, next time I think I will go for the French toast (Serious food envy when I saw the table next to ours).

I know you couldn’t get much more cliché at the moment but I am LOVING brunch at the minute. Any favourite brunch spots would be much appreciated!
