My blogging journey started in 2016 when I took a three-week trip to Bali and fell completely head over heels in love with travel. This trip seriously sparked something in me, so just the following year, I took a sabbatical from my office job and spent five months backpacking around China and Southeast Asia.
To be honest, booking China as my first big trip was a pretty ballsy move – for someone who speaks not one word of Mandarin and had never been away from home for more than three weeks. But if you can backpack China without a working SIM card, I think you can backpack anywhere!
My love for travel grew longer in the following years, and I enjoyed many short trips to Europe, North Africa, and the United Arab Emirates.
In 2020 (yes, during the pandemic), I married my now husband in a beautiful elopement in Cornwall. We took photos on the beach and had cornish pasties and champagne as our wedding breakfast.
And yes, it was as magical as it sounds.
For the following three years, I lived the corporate London life (and loved it!), blogging about the capital whenever I had a spare minute and travelling around Europe whenever I had a spare weekend. I adored the glitz of the big city and explored every inch of it in the three short years I lived there.
But in 2023, I left London life behind and booked a one-way ticket to Latin America. I spent nearly five months backpacking around beautiful Mexico, which stole my heart. My favourite spots are San Cristobal de las Casas, Mazunte, and Guadalajara. They are all so different but incredible in their own right.
Right now, I’m working my way south through Central and South America, hitting all the highlights and finding some hidden gems along the way!
This blog is a collection of my best stories, tips and advice from the many years of travel. I write about my first-hand experience visiting a place to provide the most helpful information possible.
